The Egyptian Society for Population Studies and Reproductive Health implemented this study on stigma to gather information on the experiences of people living with HIV related to stigma and discrimination. The study showed that many study subjects did not reveal their HIV status to anybody; the majority of women in the study chose to undergo an HIV test because of the death of a husband, partner or family member; and the most-at-risk populations were more likely to experience negative feelings and internal stigma.
