World Health Assembly, May 2018
On 22 May 2018, at the 71st World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland, the Ministers of Health of Zimbabwe and Kenya, as champions of the Global Prevention Coalition, chaired an event on ‘Achieving Universal Coverage of HIV Prevention Services and Commodities’.
More than 200 delegates, including 14 ministers of health from coalition countries, as well as ministers from three additional countries that newly joined the coalition—Botswana, the Islamic Republic of Iran and Myanmar, and the heads of WHO, UNAIDS, the Global Fund, IPPF and the Deputy Director of UNFPA attended the event.
UNAIDS launched a first progress report on the implementation of the HIV Prevention 2020 Road Map since the inauguration of the Coalition in October 2017.
