Côte d’Ivoire’s 2016–2020 national strategic plan builds on the country’s achievements, lessons, and intervention innovations along the four axes of the 2012–2015 national strategic plan: 1) prevention; 2) care, treatment and support; 3) reduction in socioeconomic impact; and 4) governance in the national response. The package of HIV services in the 2016–2020 plan seeks to move the country towards the 90-90-90 goals for HIV testing, treatment and viral suppression. It is grounded in analysis of factors including the socioeconomic environment that contributes to HIV transmission, uses multisectoral, decentralised service delivery and focuses on the geographical areas and populations most affected by HIV in Côte d’Ivoire. Four impact results are specified—reducing new infections; reducing AIDS-related mortality; establishing an effective continuum of care for people living with HIV, orphans and vulnerable children, and their families; and ensuring efficient governance in the HIV response—along with corresponding targets and strategies. An implementation plan and finance plan are also provided.
