This article in the Journal of Health Psychology describes the results of interviews with 15 South Africans seeking HIV testing. The interviews were conducted in part to understand factors that influence decisions to seek testing. Participants also discussed ways to increase the uptake of HIV testing, such as workplace testing, outreach through the media, and linkage with cultural rituals such as male circumcision.
