Dr. Buhle Ncube of the World Health Organization’s Regional Office for Africa summarises the progress and impact of voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) programmes for HIV prevention, the contributions of the Joint Strategic Action Framework (2012-2016), and the lessons learned so far.
