Researchers used Zimbabwe as a case study to explore the epidemiological impact and cost implications of introducing early infant male circumcision (EIMC) into an existing programme providing voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) to adults and adolescents, compared with a programme that sustains adult VMMC coverage by circumcising adolescents. The results, which were published in a PLoS collection, suggest that the cost of EIMC may be less than that of adolescent and adult circumcision.
