The purpose of the policy is to reduce fragmentation of reproductive health activities, improve existing programs, and improve reproductive health and well-being in PNG. Focuses include encouraging men’s involvement in sexual and reproductive health matters and addressing adolescent issues including sex outside of marriage, early marriage, unintended pregnancies, unsafe abortions, and the social consequences of these outcomes.
