Scaling up evidence-based HIV prevention measures, including voluntary medical male circumcision, was integral to the reductions achieved in new HIV diagnoses and HIV-related deaths in Malawi and Rakai, Uganda. These two locations are among six whose progress against HIV is highlighted in a new report that identifies the common elements in these effective responses to the epidemic.
