The World Health Organization released this public report on the 3 June 2015 prequalification of the ShangRing™ device for performing circumcisions for healthy men and boys ages 13 and older in the context of voluntary medical male circumcision for HIV prevention programmes. The report describes the device and summarises the assessment of the product dossier, the conclusions on the review of the clinical studies on efficacy and safety of the ShangRing, and the outcomes of the manufacturing site inspection. It also provides labeling information and instructions on use.
