Breaking Barriers and Bridging Gaps: Addressing Gender and Age Disparities in HIV Services for Men

- //Men & HIV Technical Working Group
| -

Despite significant advancements in HIV prevention, treatment, and care, men continue to face unique challenges in accessing these services. Gender norms, societal expectations, and demographic factors contribute to disparities that hinder effective HIV interventions among men. Our webinar will explore these challenges and actionable solutions through the attached agenda.

The webinar will briefly feature two insightful presentations followed by a reflective session on the coverage of Men and HIV topics at the IAS2024 conference happening in Munich this July.

  1. Men and HIV Dialogues - Gift Dlamini, Eswatini will discuss barriers men face in accessing HIV services and share experiences from community dialogues in Eswatini.
  2. Examining Age and Gender Profiles of Viraemia - Andrea Brizzi, UK will analyze demographic trends in viraemia among men in African populations, emphasizing the implications for public health strategies.
  3. The reflective session will align insights from the IAS2024 conference with our webinar discussions, identifying gaps and opportunities for future research and interventions.
