Researchers examined the HIV risk perceptions of black South African women, assessed the accuracy of those perceptions by determining the women’s HIV status four years later, and identified factors that might affect the perceptions, including having heard that male circumcision reduces men’s risk of HIV acquisition. The findings are described in this article in BMC Public Health.
