The 11th KP COP event was co-hosted with UNODC and INPUD.

In session 1, the meeting commenced with a welcome address by Fariba Soltani from UNODC, highlighted the increased use of stimulant drugs globally for various reasons including reducing hunger, reducing feelings of euphoria, increasing weight among others. Whilst referring to the World drug report, she highlighted that there is a 6-fold higher rate of mortality as a result of taking stimulants such as cocaine thus a need to address stimulant use across populations particularly among people who use and inject with drugs.

During the second session of the meeting, Judy Chang from INPUD provided the opening remarks. In her address, highlighted the persistent gaps between the data for stimulant use for and appropriate scaled interventions for people who use and inject with drugs who inject drugs. She also underscored the importance of the meeting as well as its' objectives.

The panel of experts included Monica Ciupagea from UNODC, and Antons Mozalevskis, Annette Verster and Dzimtry Krupchanka from WHO, ‍Ancella Voets from Mainline and Yolaan Andrews from NACOSA,‍ Mat Southwell from Coact and Nang Pann Ei Kham from DPAG; Thomas Brigden from EJAF and William Miller from PEPFAR
