Researchers assessed the cost-effectiveness of voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) in South Africa using an incremental approach. Through analysis of the expected consequences of circumcising one male individual with specific characteristics in a specific year, this approach yields more precise estimates of cost-effectiveness and identifies the results of investment in VMMC during a specific time period (rather than over time). The results are presented in a PLoS collection of VMMC modelling studies.
