These guidelines describe an evidence- and rights-based, people- and community-centred approach to offering pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) methods for HIV prevention. They recommend the provision of PrEP through existing health services. Placing the people and communities who could benefit from PrEP at the centre of programme planning will allow services to be adapted to their preferences and sexual and reproductive health needs while maximising impact and health system efficiency.
