Global HIV Prevention Coalition High-Level Dialogue on Accelerating HIV Prevention and Preparing for Future Pandemics, 2023

This high-level dialogue was held at the UNAIDS secretariat in Geneva on the sidelines of the World Health Assembly. The objective of the dialogue was to draw political attention and focus on accelerating HIV prevention towards ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030 and ensuring pandemic preparedness for the future.

Updated Global HIV Prevention Scorecards & 10 Actions Roadmap Survey Results webinar

The 2024 Global HIV Prevention Scorecards Tool to country stakeholders and partners, highlighting the importance of monitoring progress at national and subnational levels was disseminated during this webinar. The key findings from the survey assessing the country's progress in implementing the 10 Actions Roadmap and review technical assistance (TA) requests from countries to strengthen HIV prevention efforts were also shared.

Collaboration key to HIV prevention - Morekisi

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry for State President, Ms Goitsemang Morekisi says the monitoring and prevention of HIV requires collaborative solutions as resources for addressing the epidemic are becoming scarce, and competing with other priorities.

Speaking during the Global HIV Prevention Coalition (GPC) and South to South Learning Network (SSLN) HIV prevention outcomes workshop in Gaborone yesterday,  Ms Morekisi urged countries to work smarter by putting minds together, learning from each other to be able to make savings on the meagre of resources at disposal.

I have been privileged to serve in multiple capacities for the HIV response and in my reflection, I realised there has been something off about the current approaches to this important progressive movement for a single disease in our lifetime.

Prevention Champions: GPC country-support teams strengthening Stewardship for HIV Prevention programmes

HIV Prevention stewardship in countries includes coordinating the HIV response; monitoring and evaluation of programmes and resource mobilization with a keen focus on primary HIV prevention. This is often the function of the National AIDS Coordinating Authorities, this could either be National AIDS Commissions or HIV Prevention Department in Ministry of Health.

HIV Prevention Learning Pack

The HIV Prevention Learning Pack is a compendium of essential resources for designing and managing HIV prevention responses at country and community level. The resources can be used by key HIV prevention stakeholders at all levels to inform program planning and implementation, resource-allocation as well as overall decision making to accelerate HIV prevention towards achieving global targets.
