The Zimbabwe AIDS levy imposes a 3% tax on corporate profits and personal incomes. This case study shows how the country has sustained HIV prevention financing, bridged donor resource gaps and accelerated progress toward global targets whilst mobilizing domestic resources into the National AIDS Trust Fund. Notably, in 2023, the fund managed approximately, USD 30 million that was utilized to meet resource needs that donors divest from and has contributed to country successes such as an estimated 78% reduction in new HIV infections – on track to achieve the 82.5% reduction compared to 2010. The National AIDS Council of Zimbabwe provides oversight to the Trust Fund.
